Melanie, please tell Mr. Brown that my Windsor chair is the most beautiful one I have ever seen! The finish is perfect in our living room and I love the darker pegs being visible. It arrived in perfect condition about an hour ago and I wanted to let you know how happy I am with it. Your service and workmanship is to be admired in a world where that is becoming a rarity. Thank you for all your correspondence and caring.

Windsor Chairmakers was founded by Jim Brown in 1987. Jim has an advanced degree in furniture design and, before coming to Maine, he spent 15 years designing for major furniture companies. He moved to Maine with a vision to design and build heirloom quality, traditional American furniture. Using a historic farmstead, he has created the quintessential Yankee workshop. An old barn serves as the workshop and the adjacent 1800's farmhouse acts as a showroom.
In 1996, Nance Brown, Jim's wife, joined the business to assist with sales and production management. Jim is now able to focus primarily on designing traditional furniture with an updated twist and custom furniture pieces. Jim and Nance both bring a love of traditional design and an appreciation of the uniqueness of hardwoods finished in exceptional color.
Today Windsor Chairmakers continues to offer a large selection of hand-made, original designs and also the ability to create custom furniture; the result of a collaboration between all our staff and you, the customer. You get the furniture that you want, custom-made in solid hardwood and finished in durable traditional materials, and delivered all over the world.
